I quite agree with you on the “We as Sri lankans rarely think our blogs as our online Business” phrase. In fact, we don’t at all. But then, there’s a huge pit in the way. My philosophy, or rather, the general blogger philosophy is NOT to go into monetization before you build your blog. If you receive 40 uniques today and none tomorrow, then I seriously doubt that person’s chances of promoting the business model. All in all, Smorty is really powerful, and yes, it can generate you money. But the problem with the low-traffic blogs and the occasional paid review is that most people see that blogger as a sell-out. Once I saw a blog that posted about a powerful personality development insight - a low traffic blog. I subscribed for the sheer joy of reading through that post. And there after, he posted about some random stuff - mind you, these were not at all of his niche - and what i subscribed for. Took me a while, but when I looked at the sponsored review link, I lost all faith in that blogger - and this is something that happens pretty much everyday. But then again, if you know your way around, you can do wonders with smorty. Good post Niro!

I do agree with MindBlogger , when people see paid reviews they tend to shy away from that site. When I started to blog mainly about making money online I got complaints.I guess if you are trying to make money online you should say it out loud and be prepared for criticism

Yep, I agree with both of you. We have to be careful when we chose the advertisements as well. And Smorty also says this is causing some trouble to our page rank as well. Its a risk we take and a one have to be taken wisely as bloggers.

I do not think blogging is for the purpose of making money. I for one feel that blogging is for a cause and not one for making money
